Program Aims To Help NOLA Restaurants As COVID-19 Restrictions Tighten

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is announcing a new program to help expand outside seating at restaurants.

Cantrell's office revealed the new $250,000 grant program over the weekend, saying it is designed to help businesses create more outdoor dining spaces.

The money will be available in individual grants of around six-thousand-dollars for the purchase of physical improvements, including tents, chairs, misting systems, and other equipment.

The program comes on the heels of a new order ending to-go cups as part of an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.
