Hurricane Laura Now Blamed For 28 Deaths In Louisiana

The Louisiana Department of Health says they can confirm a total of 28 deaths directly related to Hurricane Laura.

On Thursday, officials updated the number of lives lost in the storm that was one of the strongest hurricanes ever to hit Louisiana.

Doctors say the recent deaths have been from heat-related illnesses, electrocution, and a house fire.

Officials say the victims have come from Rapides, Calcasieu, Natchitoches, Grant, Vernon, Beauregard, Allen, Jackson, and Acadia parishes.
