State Capitol Lit In Red This Week To Honor Fallen Firefighters

The Louisiana State Capitol is being lit in red this week to honor fallen firefighters from across the state.

The building was lit in red with a beacon above the 34th floor on Sunday, and crews then worked to adjust the color and brightness over the next few days to make the display easier to see.

House Speaker Clay Schexnayder requested the lighting as part of Light the Night, a week-long observation for firefighters that runs through October 4.
