One man is dead following a shootout on Sunday with police officers in Houma.
According to reports, Houma Police responded to a call around 3 a.m. on Stovall Street and found a man walking in the street with a gun.
Backup from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office were called in to talk to the man, but he eventually fired at officers and was wounded in the exchange.
The suspect later died at the hospital, and the Louisiana State Police are investigating the incident.
