The first doses of the Pfizer COVID vaccine are being distributed in Louisiana today.
The Ochsner Health system will get 9,300 doses in its initial allotment.
Ochsner's medical director Dr. Katherine Baumgarten is encouraging anyone who can get their vaccine to do so as soon as they can.
She said she barely felt the shot go into her arm and described the side effects as mild.
