Jefferson Parish is canceling its postponed Mardi Gras events.
The Parish Council initially pushed back its date for carnival parades, Family Gras and other events from February 16 to late May. Now, it says there are far too many coronavirus cases to continue with those plans.
The parish currently has a 16% COVID-19 positivity rate.
