The Louisiana Department of Health reported an additional 2,758 COVID-19 cases Thursday. LDH noted that 844 of those cases came from a backlog dating back as far as October of last year.
The total reported case count stood at 408,995. The death toll rose by 38 to 9,044.
Hospitalizations decreased by 91 to 1,295 with 162 patients on ventilators, down 18 overnight.
On the vaccine front, state health officials said an additional 47,280 doses were delivered since last Tuesday for a total so far of 534,985.
130,978 out of 404,007 vaccine series are now complete.
