The Louisiana Department of Health reported 898 new COVID-19 cases Friday. The running total of cases since the pandemic began stood at 428,592.
The death toll from the coronavirus increased by 26 to 9,587.
Hospitalizations fell by 278 to 651 with the number of patients on ventilators down by five to 95 statewide.
