City Health Department Director Dr. Jennifer Avegno says their vaccination efforts are paying off, with New Orleans is leading the country in vaccinations.
According to data, 21% of Orleans Parish residents have at least had their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, with a total of 11% of the parish fully vaccinated.
The United States currently has 18% of the population vaccinated with at least the first dose, and 9% fully vaccinated.
