New Airlines Taking Flight At New Orleans Airport

Nonstop flight service to Jacksonville, Florida and Greenville, Mississippi is coming to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.

Officials with Silver Airways announced Tuesday they would begin offering flights from New Orleans to Jacksonville starting June 3 with connections throughout Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean.

“We are pleased to welcome Silver Airways to New Orleans with nonstop service to Jacksonville,” said Kevin Dolliole, the airport's Director of Aviation. “We continue to work to provide more opportunities to connect New Orleans to the rest of the country and vice versa. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a great partnership.”

Flights to Jacksonville are expected to be flown twice weekly, and Silver is celebrating by offering a special discount on tickets between June 3 through July 11.

The airport also announced on Tuesday that Boutique Air would begin flights between New Orleans and Greenville starting later this month, offering one round trip a day on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

“We have diligently worked with Boutique Air to launch this service to New Orleans," said Greenville, MS Mayor Erick Simmons. "We believe this is the right route at the right time for our citizens in the Mississippi Delta."

“Greenville is our first nonstop destination in Mississippi, and we look forward to connecting the rich history of each of our regions," said Dolliole.

Boutique Air also has relationships with two other airlines currently serving the airport, United and American. "Passengers booking through United Airlines and American Airlines will enjoy seamless connections and baggage transfers when booking on either website of United Airlines or American Airlines,” said Brian Kondrad, Vice President of Business Operations for Boutique Air.

American Airlines also recently announced a new non-stop flight from New Orleans to Austin, TX starting next month.
