New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is scaling back on plans to move City Hall into the Municipal Auditorium.
Over the weekend, Mayor Cantrell's administration announced that they have shifted their focus to keeping the project within in the confines of the building after residents criticized the original proposal.
Officials say they will reduce the amount of construction needed by cutting the number of people working there and abandoning a proposed multi-story parking garage.
Cantrell's administration hopes to have the project completed by 2024 or early 2025.
