Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards is joining the President's Council of Governors.
President Biden appointed Edwards to the position Thursday, which focuses on homeland security and coordinates state-federal reactions from threats.
Edwards joins nine other governors in the bipartisan group, including Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Delaware Gov. John Carney and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
