For the second straight year, the New Orleans Jazz Festival is being canceled due to COVID-19.

Organizers announced yesterday that the exponential growth in new cases of COVID-19 in the region and the ongoing public health emergency meant the event could not go on as planned.

More than 85 acts had signed on to play the festival over two weekends this October.

The festival plans to return next year from April 29 to May 8.
