LSU says they have vaccinated Mike the Tiger to protect the endangered cat from COVID-19.

The University confirmed yesterday that Mike VII, the live tiger mascot for the school's sports teams, had received his second and final dose of vaccine last Thursday.

LSU says the vaccine was donated by Zoetis, which has helped zoos and other institutions administer more than 11,000 vaccines to animals.

Mike has shown no side effects and was vaccinated out of caution after several large cats at the Bronx Zoo were diagnosed with the virus in 2020.
