Jefferson Parish leaders are re-opening the Alario Center as a COVID-19 testing and vaccination site to help combat a surge in new cases.
Parish-President Cynthia Lee-Sheng said yesterday that in the past few weeks, the parish has gone from a low average of 30 to 60 cases per day to more than 500.
The Alario Center will cater to both drive-thru and walk-up patients.
The site will open on Monday, August 16 and operate from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.
