A new drug to help reduce the symptoms of COVID-19 is heading towards human trials by researchers at LSU.
On Thursday, the University and Canadian-based Skymount Medical updated their testing on mice for a new drug recovery treatment for unvaccinated people with COVID-19 symptoms.
LSU said animal testing started in April 2020 and has shown a 97% effectiveness with no toxicity.
Researchers are now planning to begin human trials on 80 volunteers in the U.S. and 200 volunteers overseas.
