The Louisiana Department of Health reported 2,828 COVID-19 hospitalizations Monday, down 161 from Friday.
The number of patients on ventilators rose to 480.
The death toll from the coronavirus increaed by 59 to 11,977.
LDH also reported 10,950 new cases since last Friday.
State health officials added that 69,754 vaccine doses were administered since last Thursday.
Gov. John Bel Edwards said Monday that he hoped final FDA approval for the Pfizer vaccine would encourage more people to get the shot.
