Ochsner Health System now requires all physicians, staff, and workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
On Tuesday, Ochsner CEO Warner Thomas announced the new policy, saying it is the right thing to do to protect the health system's patients, employees, and their families.
Officials say Ochsner facilities are caring for almost 1,000 COVID-19 patients, with more than 88% of them being unvaccinated.
The deadline for Ochsner employees to get vaccinated is October 29.
