Police say an arrest is pending for Wendell Lachney, accused of a drunk driving crash that killed a nine-year-old New Orleans girl.
Lachney is receiving medical care and will be arrested after his release. Officials wouldn't say if he was being treated at a hospital or somewhere else.
Lachney is charged with vehicular homicide for reportedly rear-ending a car at high speed in Gretna while driving under the influence.
Abigail Douglas died of injuries she suffered in the crash.
