Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon's office has reportedly fielded more than 2,000 complaints about insurers since Hurricane Ida.
The complaints include claims that insurers are denying the existence of damage, and that they're steering clients to certain businesses to buy supplies.
Some contractors and homeowners claim the insurance companies' behavior is slowing the recovery from Ida.
Hurricane deductibles are already higher since Katrina in 2005, and insurance premiums are expected to rise again next year.
