The Louisiana Department of Health is reporting 20 more probable cases of the omicron coronavirus variant.
The probable cases involve 28 patients in the New Orleans area, three in the Baton Rouge area, two in the northwestern area, and one in Acadiana.
Two of the three confirmed cases are in New Orleans, and the other is in the Northshore.
The new cases bring the total number of omicron cases in Louisiana to 37, with three confirmed and 34 probable.
The first confirmed case in the state was identified last Friday.
