The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating Tuesday's fatal helicopter crash on I-10 at the Bonnet Carre Spillway Bridge
Louisiana State Police confirmed that the pilot was killed in the fiery crash.
The FAA says the pilot was the only person on board the Bell 407.
The helicopter went down about midday on the eastbound lanes of I-10, causing lane closures and traffic detours on I-10 and I-55.
