Louisiana's once-every-ten-years redistricting session will start on Tuesday.
State lawmakers decided about a month ago to hold the session in February, before the legislature's regular 2022 session begins in March.
Legislators will take 20 days to redraw the state's congressional, state House, and state Senate districts, as well as the districts for the state Supreme Court, the Public Service Commission, and the education boards.
Redistricting is getting off to a late start because the pandemic delayed U.S. Census data collection.
