The suspect in a violent carjacking last week has reportedly admitted to shooting a 12-year-old in New Orleans' first murder of the year.
Officers arrested 18-year-old Tyrese Harris on Sunday on accusations of carjacking a woman at a Costco gas station a week ago and running over her with her own car.
Harris is now charged with the murder of 12-year-old Derrick Cash on January 3.
Harris is also charged with an attempted carjacking from a gas station convenience store on Howard Avenue last month.
