A vigil is scheduled for this evening in memory of French Quarter superstar Chris Owens.
A family friend says Owens died of a heart attack on Tuesday morning at her home.
Born Christina Shaw in west Texas, she married New Orleans car dealer Sol Owens, who died in 1978.
She'd been a French Quarter fixture since the late 1950s.
This evening's vigil takes place at 6:30 p.m. in front of Owens' club on Bourbon Street, and everybody is welcome.
The 37th Annual Chris Owens French Quarter Easter Parade takes place on April 17.
