Mayor LaToya Cantrell is defending her expensive trip to France and her appearance in juvenile court in support of a teenage carjacker.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Cantrell answered questions about her trip to the French Riviera in June to sign a sister-city agreement.
She and three aides spent more than $40,000 taxpayer dollars on the trip, which she claimed was "absolutely worth it."
Cantrell was also unapologetic about her appearance as a character witness for the young criminal, a move that offended the teen's victims.
