Louisiana schools are still coping with a teacher shortage.
State School Superintendent Cade Brumley says more than 2,500 teachers are needed statewide.
West Baton Rouge school officials say recruiting efforts never stop. They have only five vacancies to fill, and would hire a good candidate even if they had no vacancies, to try to stay ahead of the shortage.
East Baton Rouge schools have 257 open positions, 183 of them for teachers.
Officials say they'll be actively looking for new employees year round.
