Louisiana lawmakers are trying to figure out how to bring down the price of insurance without putting insurance companies out of business
Hurricanes Laura, Ida, Delta and Zeta bankrupted a number of insurers and ran some others out of the state.
The ones that remained are offering coverage at much higher prices than before.
Republican State Rep. Gabe Firment is a board member of the Joint Committee on Insurance, and he says it's tough to make insurance affordable without making it hard for companies to do business.
