Five current and former law enforcement officers are under indictment for crimes related to the 2019 death of Ronald Greene.
A Union Parish grand jury on Thursday indicted four Louisiana State Police troopers and a Union Parish deputy.
One trooper is charged with negligent homicide. The others face charges of malfeasance in office and obstruction of justice.
Greene died while in custody after a high-speed chase, but troopers reportedly told his mother that he died in a car crash.
Footage released a year later showed troopers beating Greene before he died in custody.
