The NOPD and Tulane University police are increasing their patrols near the campus after a couple of weekend robberies.
Officers say two groups of young people were robbed at gunpoint early Sunday in less than 20 minutes on Hillary Street near Snake and Jake's Christmas Club Lounge.
Three men were robbed, followed by three women.
The victims of both robberies told investigators the suspects were several black men who got out of a black sedan and robbed them of their cash, wallets, and cell phones.
