The Humane Society of Louisiana says several of the horses used in Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans are now up for adoption.
There were 90 horses used in this year's parades, and several of them still need permanent homes.
The Humane Society started the horse adoption program in 2017 after finding out Mardi Gras horses were often sold to slaughterhouses after the Carnival season.
Officials say at least 77 horses have found permanent homes through the adoption program.
