Louisiana's 4th Circuit Court of Appeal is upholding an Orleans Parish judge's decision to delay the trial in a deadly carjacking till next year.
Criminal District Court Judge Kimya Holmes postponed the trial from earlier this month to March 18, 2024, in order to give the defense attorneys more time to review fingerprint and DNA evidence.
Three teens will be tried as adults for the murder of 73-year-old Linda Frickey in March 2022.
Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams plans to appeal the delay to the Louisiana Supreme Court.
