Funeral arrangements are pending for a Denham Springs police officer who died in the hospital on Friday after being shot on May 11.
Cpl. Shawn Kelly began his career with the Louisiana Department of Corrections in 1994, and ended up with the Denham Springs PD in 2019.
He was shot several times after he responded to a disturbance at a popular shopping center near I-12.
Livingston Parish deputies later shot and killed the suspect.
