The New Orleans City Council is taking action on public safety, affordable housing, and regulation of short-term rentals.
In Thursday's meeting, council members amended the zoning ordinance to enforce security measures in parking garages with the highest rates of car burglary.
The council passed zoning incentives to expand affordable homeownership opportunities, and temporarily halted permits for commercial short-term rentals in order to prevent misclassification and make sure zoning regulations are being followed.
