The cleanup of a massive illegal dumping ground for tires in New Orleans East is an ongoing effort.
Crews from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development have picked up more than 11,000 tires on Michoud Blvd. at I-10 since last October.
That's just part of the more than 40,000 tires that have been collected in New Orleans East since last year, since there's more than one illegal dumping ground.
