A new law requires all Louisiana students to take a personal finance course before they can graduate from high school.
Gov. John Bel Edwards signed a bill into law that requires every student to take a course that will teach them how to balance a checkbook, how the stock market works, and so forth.
Students will have to complete the course in order to graduate and receive scholarships from the state's TOPS program.
Louisiana is reportedly the 22nd state to pass such a law.
Local school boards will decide how to implement it.
