President Biden is speaking on the election of Louisiana Republican Mike Johnson as speaker of the House.
During a joint press conference alongside the prime minister of Australia at the White House, Biden was asked whether he was concerned Johnson would attempt to overturn the 2024 election results if Biden was reelected.
Biden said he's not concerned, saying he understands the Constitution.
He noted former President Trump's efforts to challenge the election in 2020 were overturned in the courts.
Johnson, who reportedly played a role in the Republican effort to overturn Trump's 2020 loss, was elected Speaker today on the House floor.
