Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve is giving New Orleans a miss for the first time since 2017.
New Orleans has hosted a live segment of the celebration's national TV broadcast for the past seven years.
It's not happening this year, and while a lot of people may assume the problem is crime, it may be a matter of follow the money.
Walt Leger, president and CEO of New Orleans and Company, says finances, not crime, drove the decision to drop the local event to ring in 2024.
