(FOX 8 Weather) A strong storm system will move across Louisiana on Wednesday (April 9), bringing the potential for severe winds, tornadoes, and flooding concerns.
We are giving the First Alert for a strong storm system moving into our area Wednesday morning. The North Shore is included in a Level 4 (of 5) risk for severe storms, with a hatched tornado risk for most of the area. This means a strong EF 2+ tornado will be possible.
Isolated supercells ahead of a squall line in the late morning bring a tornado and damaging wind threat. Embedded in the squall line, swaths of damaging winds, hail, tornadoes and flooding rain will be possible. Rain totals from 2-4 inches with isolated higher totals could lead to flooding.
