Funeral arrangements are pending for New Orleans R&B singer and pianist Clarence "Frogman" Henry, who died Sunday at age 87.
The longtime Algiers resident had a hit in 1956 with the novelty tune "Ain't Got No Home."
He toured with the Beatles in 1964, and performed at last year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in a wheelchair.
Mayor LaToya Cantrell and U.S. Congressman Troy Carter both issued statements on Monday remembering Henry.
"He came up during a time when our local music scene was thriving, and his name will be remembered among the greats," noted Cantrell.
“His enduring hits and unique voice ensure that the rhythm of the ‘Frogman’ will resonate in the heart of New Orleans for generations to come," said Carter.
