There's no immediate ruling in a trial for a lawsuit challenging Louisiana's new congressional map.

The hearing before a three-judge panel in Shreveport adjourned about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday

Louisiana lawmakers created the map earlier this year after a judge said a previous one violated the federal Voting Rights Act.

The existing map had one majority-minority district, but the judge said there should be two, since a third of Louisiana's population is black.

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that creating a district solely on the basis of race is unconstitutional.

No word yet as to when a ruling may be handed down.
