St. Tammany Parish Public Schools Partially Reopen Today

Students at some St. Tammany Parish Public Schools are back in class today, two days after an EF-2 tornado struck the parish.

More than two dozen schools in the hardest-hit areas will remain closed.

Officials say the schools that aren't opening today still don't have power or they need additional repairs.

A National Weather Service storm survey team said a tornado that touched down in St. Tammany Parish Wednesday is now considered an EF-2 with maximum winds of 120 miles per hour.
