Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has made another trip to Texas.

He visited the southern border on Thursday, meeting with Louisiana National Guardsmen who are there on a mission. More than 50 soldiers are patrolling the border to stop illegal crossings.

The Governor also received an update on Operation Lone Star, Texas's state-run border security operation.

“It was great to join our legislators and see firsthand the work our Louisiana National Guardsmen are doing at our southern border. Due to the help of Louisiana, and many other states, illegal immigration has dropped significantly since September 2023. I appreciate the Guardsmen who briefed us as well as the legislators who attended today’s trip,” said Landry.

Deploying the Louisiana Guard to the border reportedly is costing the state $3 million.
