The Louisiana Supreme Court says employees of two ankle monitoring companies can be criminally charged in a murder case.

In 2021, Marshall Rayburn murdered his wife, wounded a neighbor, and killed himself after removing his ankle monitor.

Prosecutors charged workers at two ankle monitoring companies with negligent homicide for failing to notify police when Rayburn's ankle monitor was turned off.

The First Circuit Court said the workers couldn't be charged, but the Supreme Court reversed that ruling on Wednesday.
