The city of New Orleans will open cooling centers and swimming pools this week in response to high temperatures in the forecast.
From now through this Saturday, residents can cool down at more than a dozen city libraries, plus a dozen community centers.
Hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, at most locations.
In addition, four indoor pools and three outdoor pools will be open.
