Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is disputing claims made on Monday by a Baton Rouge woman at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Kaitlyn Joshua says two hospitals denied her care during a miscarriage in 2022, and she blames the state's abortion ban for the situation.

Murrill stated that there's nothing in the law that "prohibits emergency care for someone having a miscarriage or any emergency situation during pregnancy."

Murrill pointed out that the law was "passed under Governor John Bel Edwards's term."
