Louisiana schools will see less time spent on state testing this year, thanks to a new plan from State Education Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley.
The plan reduces testing time by 20 percent, focusing on trimming the number of questions on LEAP tests, particularly in the English section.
Brumley says the goal is to maintain valid results while allowing students more classroom instruction time. This change is effective immediately, with further reductions being considered for future school years.
Parents, teachers, and students are expected to welcome the shorter tests.
