Jefferson Parish is seeing record early voter turnout.

More than 8,000 ballots were cast on Friday's first day of early voting. That's more than twice the number of first-day early voters in the parish in 2020 and 2016.

As of Monday, that number was about 23,500.

More than 250,000 votes have been cast statewide since early voting began in Louisiana. So far, Republicans in the state are outvoting Democrats by a wide margin.
