The city of New Orleans plans to help NOLA Public Schools deal with a $30 million budget gap.

The New Orleans City Council announced on Monday that assistance to the school system will be included in the proposed 2025 city budget.

City council members joined members of the Orleans Parish School Board in front of City Hall to announce the plan.

The city will allocate $10 million to the school board before the end of the year, and another $10 million before next April.
