By order of the state Supreme Court, New Orleans attorney Lionel Burns is under a two-year suspension from practicing law in Louisiana.
The justices suspended Burns last week for the second time in six years.
Burns admitted he'd violated the rules of professional conduct by accepting payment from clients during his previous suspension, and billing another client for legal work he hadn't performed.
Burns was suspended for a year in 2018. He's a former candidate for Orleans Parish District Attorney and Criminal District Court judge.
